Jill Goodyear
Jill Goodyear’s practice as a painter, printmaker, and mixed media artist is deeply influenced by her early training in textile design, which has endowed her work with a strong sense of colour and form. Jill’s process often involves working with paint, ink, collage, and print to create bright, fresh images on both canvas and paper. Drawing remains at the core of her work, particularly through portraiture and life drawing, which allows her to experiment with and refine her observations of the human figure and form. Jill finds inspiration in the landscapes around her, particularly the sea, the woods, and the ever-changing skies where she lives. Her work seamlessly blends the abstract and the figurative, with each piece evolving through an intuitive process of layering and texturing. She has a particular interest in the way nature leaves patterns and textures over time—whether it’s the lichen growing on stones or the weathered surfaces of rocks and land. Jill has exhibited her work in various galleries, and she is currently showing her pieces at the Woburn Gallery, having been part of the Visual Images Group in Buckinghamshire’s Open Studios.
