Joanna Stone
Joanna Stone lives in Heath and Reach, Bedfordshire and has a studio in the beautiful ancient house at Westbury Arts Centre, Milton Keynes.
Having gained a degree in Fine Art at Loughborough and a post-graduate Art Teacher's Certificate at Goldsmiths between 1976 – 1980, Joanna has continued to make art and teach ever since. Over the last 30 years Joanna has exhibited in solo and group shows at Leighton, Luton, Dunstable and Bedford libraries, Bromham Mill, AIM Gallery CMK, The Golden Hare in Ampthill, Moat Farm Gallery in Stoke Hammond, Woburn Abbey, the Eagle Gallery in Bedford and Westbury Arts Centre. She is also a member of The Artist Collective @ Westbury.
“I'm fired by the challenges of working from life. This informs all my art, which often takes an allegorical form around a theme. Recurring ideas centre on how women are portrayed in history, literature, folklore and myth.”
